Polo horses are mainly selected for their physical characteristics, such as agility and dexterity, which are maximized by the breeders, resulting in first class animals. Such is the importance of these characteristics that they started the implementation of embryonic technology.
The mare to be perpetuated is fertilized by another animal of exceptional qualities and then the embryo is removed from the Polo mare’s uterus, to later implant the embryo in another female and thus obtain a foal of good characteristics without the champion being inactive during the pregnancy period.
It must be recognized that this technology has perfected the breed to the point of allowing the breeding of horses in all the places of the world where this sport has been imported, allowing the horses we have in the fields of our country to be direct descendants of the polo horses bred in the pampas.
