Whilst polo mallets and foot mallets may sound like they’re the same thing, they have some differences that make them unique and special for their own sport and entertainment.
Polo mallets
A polo mallet is a stick used in polo to hit the ball and make goals. It is one of the most important pieces of equipment in the sport. Polo mallets come in very different sizes and weights, all designed to fit one specific player’s needs. However, they all share one general characteristic: it should be long enough, enabling the player to hold it whilst sitting in the horse. The player should lean slightly to reach the ball with their mallet, but the mallet should be able to easily reach the ground. Therefore, the mallets length will depend on the horse’s height.
Foot mallets
Meanwhile, a foot mallet is just like a polo mallet except it’s much shorter. This makes it possible for you to use it to practice hitting the ball with different swings when you are at home or at the park. Because of their reduced size, they are also lighter in weight, making them easier to be transported. Foot mallets come in a few different sizes and the mallet that’s perfect for you will depend on your height.
Now that you know these differences, which mallet are you going to try first?
